About me

For me, TaKeTiNa is both stimulating and calming—a holistic experience for body, mind, and soul, and a journey of discovery into the world of rhythms and, through that, into myself.

Born in Erfurt, I gained my first (solo) vocal experience in the St. Thomas Church choir; later, I undertook ten years of classical guitar training.

After completing an apprenticeship in mechanical engineering and living through the political changes of the early 1990s, I met people from many different cultural backgrounds... and, alongside this, began to explore the world of rhythms ever more deeply.

After studying adult education at the University of Leipzig, I began working for a small consultancy firm in late 1999. There, I support processes related to citizen participation, urban and neighborhood development, and sustainability.

Actively engaging with music has always played a significant role in my life. In 1994–95, I had my first opportunity to play a key part in developing and implementing the musical accompaniment for a youth theater production in Annaberg-Buchholz.

I attended my first TaKeTiNa workshop in 1997 and was fascinated by the blend of simplicity and complexity I encountered. That experience stayed with me ever since.

In addition to various workshops and courses on rhythm and drumming (such as "Street-Beatz" with Drums & Chants), I have for many years hosted dance nights and "Acoustic Drum Waves" with changing lineups; at these events, we use live, improvised rhythms to inspire people to dance freely (currently with the Organic Beats Ensemble).

Between 2013 and 2015, I completed the basic training program to become a TaKeTiNa rhythm educator, and I have been offering ongoing workshops and training sessions using this method ever since. In 2019/20, I completed the Advanced Training, followed in 2023/24 by an 18-month specialized therapeutic training program as a TaKeTiNa rhythm therapist at Erlangen University Hospital.

It gives me great joy to share the diverse and profound rhythmic experiences offered by this method—while continuing to develop personally in the process.

I would be happy to provide information about TaKeTiNa workshops in Leipzig; additional sessions are available throughout Central Germany and beyond. Feel free to ask me about body percussion or drumming using a variety of instruments as well.

    Between chaos and order. TaKeTiNa pure in Leipzig-Plagwitz

    This weekend, you're invited to embark on a journey through rhythm, exploring the interplay between chaos and order:

    Using your body as an instrument, you can experience stepping, clapping and singing, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the rhythm, to be a complete part of the musical experience within the group. At the same time, this process will also include challenging (chaotic) moments where you experience yourself as "outside" the rhythm.

    In this way, you can move back and forth between order and chaos - playfully developing flexibility and trust.

    Falling "out of rhythm" opens up a space for exploration and experimentation, allowing you to discover new paths. Upon "returning" to, or even "falling into," the supporting rhythm, you can experience a deeper sense of rhythmic orientation.
